On Cinco de Mayo at the West Palm Beach Hilton this year, there was a different kind of party going on; there was a Realtor® Fiesta! The Realtors® Association of the Palm Beaches hosted its annual Realtor® Party Auction to benefit the Realtors® Political Action Committee. This event, which raised $42,000 last year, brought together over 200 Realtors® and RAPB affiliates to raise funds that will go to political candidates that wholeheartedly support Realtor® issues.
The night started off with a reception for Major Investors that included a guacamole making stand and an authentic mariachi band. Major Investors enjoyed mingling with West Palm Beach City Commissioners Keith James and Paula Ryan and Boca Raton City Councilman Robert Weinroth.
From there the fiesta moved into the main ballroom, led by the mariachi band and their children’s Mexican dance ensemble, where the real action began. From the minute guests started to arrive, bidding on the silent auction items started to rapidly increase.
With over 160 items ranging from Michael Kors purses, home electronics and 55 inch TVs; it’s no surprise that attendees were commenting that this was the best auction they’ve ever been to.
After everyone visited the photo booth and taco bar (yes, a taco bar), the live auction got underway. Thanks to Realtor® Reed Hartman, who doubles as RAPB’s resident auctioneer, the fundraising total continued to climb. After Reed got the crowd going and auctioned off all 10 live auction items, the numbers were crunched and the total was announced.
With the most successful auction in the history of the Realtors® Association of the Palm Beaches, the Realtor® Party Fiesta raised a grand total of $50,000!
This amazing fundraiser would not have been possible without the help from our sponsors, item donors, event attendees and winners. The money raised will keep Realtors® at the forefront of local, state, and federal issues.
